Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My first instrument was the piano — as a kid, I'd sit down and figure out melodies by ear before I knew anything about theory. That curiosity turned into more than 15 years of lessons, performances, and festivals.
It also turned into Studio 11 Entertainment — a Winnipeg recording studio I ran for over 20 years, where I helped hundreds of artists bring their music to life. I've recorded and produced artists across multiple genres, worked with musicians who went on to professional careers, and charted a Top-40 single with my band Driver that landed on MuchMusic across Canada.
Through all of that, I learned one thing above everything else: music isn't about scales and theory. It's about creativity, confidence, and having fun. The students who thrive aren't the ones with the most natural talent — they're the ones who have someone in their corner who makes the process feel real.
